Grace's hidden testimony room in the South Shore, reached through a seam in the civic skin and down. Copper mesh lines its threshold and walls, it is lit by firelight and old maintenance fixtures, there are no wellness chimes, and the circle has a sixth seat marked by a copper disc that is never filled. Part 2 says the Den is built beneath the South Shore with a concrete floor poured thick enough 'to hold a century of grief'.
