An Echo: 'a girl-shaped Echo', the residual consciousness left when a real girl was broken in the ANCHOR-0 experiment. In Part 1 she appears beside Renee as a being of light, helps her escape the Correction and is dissolved by the Grid; Part 2 shows her 'not present as a body. Not stable', then her own account of being erased. The book gives her a copper ear-cuff, short hair and a small scar over her left eyebrow.
In the films she is a translucent being of blue and teal light, with longer, looser curls under a knit beanie.
